Nanjing Iveco Automobile Co., Ltd. was established on December 26, 1995 and officially put into operation on March 1, 1996, which is a Sino-foreign joint venture jointly funded by China Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. (a wholly-owned subsidiary of SAIC) and Iveco S.p.A. of Fiat Group of Italy. The registered capital is 2.527 billion yuan, and the two parties of the joint venture each account for 50% of the shares. There are more than 7,000 employees, covering an area of 1.05 million square meters and a construction area of 444,000 square meters.
In September 2006, Nanjing Automobile Group Co., Ltd. signed an agreement with Iveco S.p.A. to further deepen cooperation. Since January 1, 2007, Nanjing Iveco Automobile Co., Ltd. and Yuejin Automobile Co., Ltd. have joined forces to integrate business operations, produce and sell Iveco and Yuejin commercial vehicles and their parts.
