Hoyode Monterrey brand introduction

HoyodeMonterreylogo

Founded in Cuba in 1865, Hoyo de Monterrey, a famous Havana cigar brand, is a well-known Havana cigar brand with a rich, fresh, evenly burned, and highly appreciated taste

Founded in 1865, the Jose Gener factory is arguably one of the oldest cigar factories in Havana, initially specializing in the production of cigars with a larger ring diameter and a lighter flavor, suitable for beginners or occasional cigar smokers, until 1970, when the Hoyo series was introduced, and it offered a more intense taste in the Hoyo series, with the Epicure No.2 (Robusto size) being the most popular cigar in the Hoyo series. Its rich, fresh, evenly burned taste is why it is highly appreciated. Among them, Epicure No.2 and DoubleCorona are both well worth checking out.

In the square of the village of Buerta Avajo, in San Juan Martínez, there is an iron gate with the inscription: "Hoyo de Monterrey: Jose. Gener 1860". In 1865, Joseph. Jose Gener was instrumental in founding Oyo. Morality. Tobacco was grown before the Monterrey brand (Hoyo refers to the sloping land that farmers crave, because it solves the problem of drainage). The main variety of Oyo cigars, DoubleCorona, has become the target of exchange for cigar aficionados, worth more than all kinds of precious metals, and its intense taste and exquisite flavor are thanks to the workers who make the fillers at the La Corona tobacco factory. Other sizes, including some machine-made cigars, are not as good as the Double Corona. The exception is Epicure No.1 and No.2, especially those packed in bundles of 50 branches. Remember that when Davidorf first created his Chateau collection, he used Oyo's CabinetSelection as the standard size. His early success in Switzerland inspired him to create the LeHoyo range (spicy and full-bodied) in 1970 to compete with Oyo cigars.

Oyo's cigars were relocated to Honduras under their original names, and their full flavour compensated for the lack of cigar cutting technology. Especially chunky cigars, such as Rothschild and Governors, are as intense as the "espresso" in cigars. The people who produce the cigars also love the flavor of the tobacco.

Don't confuse a standard Honduran Oyo cigar with an Exalibo cigar. The latter was sold in the United States under the name "Hoyode Monterrey Excalibur". However, for trademark reasons, the word "Hoyo" was removed from Europe. Both are excellent cigars, but their flavours are very different.
