SEPHORA Sephora brand introduction

SEPHORA Sephoralogo

Founded in 1969, LVMH Group is a world-renowned cosmetics retailer, mainly engaged in skin care/makeup/fragrance products

SEPHORA, the world's leading cosmetics retailer, was founded in 1969 in Limoges, France, and joined the world's largest luxury group, LVMH in 1997. As of 2013, SEPHORA has 1,859 stores in 28 countries around the world. In April 2005, SEPHORA opened their first store in China in Shanghai.

SEPHORA was founded by Dominique Mandonnaud, who opened his first cosmetics store in Limoges, France, in 1969. At that time, beauty products were only sold at the counters of department stores, and there was no open free purchase. Under Mr. Mandono's design, his cosmetics store is not only a place to sell, but also a free playground for customers to visit, roam and explore the beauty. This sales model is very popular with customers. Following great success, Mondono opened a dozen new chains in 1979 and made his first presence in Paris, France, in 1988. IN 1994, THE STORE WAS NAMED AFTER SEPHORA, THE NAME OF MOSES' WIFE IN THE CANONICAL SCRIPTURES, A YOUNG WOMAN OF BEAUTY, WISDOM, COURAGE AND GENEROSITY, SYMBOLIZING ELEGANCE, HAPPINESS AND FREEDOM. This is in perfect harmony with the philosophy of a stylish and creative boutique.
