Samsung China

Samsung's development in China can be traced back to the 70s of the last century, in the historical context that China and South Korea have not established diplomatic relations, Samsung imported coal from China through Hong Kong, which is the first trade between South Korean enterprises and China after the founding of New China; In April 1992, Samsung Corning established Samsung's first joint venture in China in Tianjin. In August 1992, after the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, Samsung's development in China began to accelerate, and in January 1995, in order to strengthen Samsung's business in China, Samsung established the Samsung Group China Headquarters. The following year, Samsung (China) Investment Co., Ltd. was established. By the end of August 2002, Samsung had established an investment company, 24 production corporations, 4 sales corporations, 1 R&D center and 1 after-sales service center in China. With 38,000 employees and a cumulative investment of $2.3 billion, Samsung has become an important part of Samsung's global growth strategy and the world's largest investment destination outside of South Korea.

Samsung's investment in China is mainly completed by electronics-related companies such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Samsung SDI, Samsung Corning, and Samsung SDS. In addition, companies such as Cheil-Cheil Wool, Samsung Techwin, Samsung Heavy Industries, Samsung C&T, Dai-ichi Planning, Samsung Life, Samsung Fire, Samsung C&T, and Shilla Hotel have also invested in China.

Samsung's products in China include: CDMA mobile phones, CDMA systems, laser printers, TFT-LCD displays and other communication and office products; core components such as semiconductors (IC, TR) and 34-inch flat picture tubes; Rear projection large-screen TVs, DVDs, home theaters and other AV products; digital cameras and other optoelectronic products; Large double-door refrigerators, central air conditioners and cabinet air conditioners and other white goods.
