Shanghai Singer Sewing Machine Co., Ltd., one of the top ten brands of sewing machines, began in the United States in 1851, the world's earliest manufacturer of electric sewing machines, the founder of the installment sales method, and the first multinational industrial company in the United States

For more than 150 years, whether it is in the world's bustling metropolis or in a remote mountain village, when it comes to sewing machines, people will mention Singer, which has become synonymous with sewing machines. The American Singer sewing machine can be said to be one of the most popular household products in the world.

In 1851, an American named Lechak Merisser Katsuka invented a machine instead of hand sewing - the sewing machine. This revolutionary invention was called one of the "four great inventions that changed human life" by Dr. Joseph Needham, a historian of science and technology in the contemporary British world.

In 1853, the first sewing machines began to be produced in the New York City factory. Two years later, he won his first award at the World Exhibition in Paris, France. In the same year, Singer pioneered the "Installment Payment" plan to increase sales, becoming the initiator of this sales method in the world, which had a profound impact on the subsequent consumer market.

Ten years later, Singer now holds 22 patents. 20,000 sewing machines are sold every year. In 1867, Singer became the first multinational industrial company in the United States to set up factories in other parts of the world, and by 1880, global sales had reached 250,000 units. The well-known red S logo was also established at this time.

In 1889, Singer created the world's first electric sewing machine, which sold 1.35 million units worldwide by the end of the 19th century, and a network dedicated to distribution and business promotion was launched.

In the 20th century, especially after World War II, Singer entered a period of great development. She has launched many special sewing machines to meet and promote the development of apparel design and sewing.

In 1908, Singer Company was established in New York, the first skyscraper in the world and the tallest building in the world at that time.

Since the beginning of the 60s, she has successfully diversified her business with a strong sales network of more than 30,000 boutiques and dealerships around the world. Among them were the world-famous American "Apollo moon landing" program and later the space shuttle program.

In 1975, Singer invented a computer-controlled multi-functional household sewing machine, which has since been gradually used in industrial sewing machines.

On November 10, 1994, Shanghai Singer Sewing Machine Co., Ltd., with an investment of 20 million US dollars and an area of 60,000 square meters, was formally established in Shanghai Minhang Economic and Technological Development Zone.

After several years of efforts, Shanghai Singer has developed seven series of dozens of industrial sewing machine products, which have won good praise from users in Chinese mainland and overseas markets.

In 2001, Singer celebrated its 150th anniversary with the launch of the world's most advanced home sewing and embroidery system: QUANTUM XL-5000.

It combines the features of current and new generations of professional sewing machines and is the most competitive and user-friendly system on the market.

In 2004, Singer established a R&D center in Shanghai and continued to expand its production scale. Today, Singer can provide various models of sewing machines and continue to maintain a strong international competitive momentum. At present, Singer has set up manufacturing plants in Brazil and China, and has established a sales network in more than 190 countries.

In 2005, Singer was the first to launch the world's first FUTURA CE-200 sewing machine controlled and operated by a personal computer (laptop or desktop computer), which is a revolutionary invention for both multi-functional sewing and computer embroidery. One of the most ideal tools for fashion design, she can turn your smart, inspired ideas into reality.

This time it was a combination of two of the top companies in the sewing machine industry, both of which provided excellent senior management teams. Our goal is to provide quality sewing machine products, culture and services to sellers and customers. And the two companies will stand on a better level to meet the needs of customers all over the world.

Over the years, Singer has always insisted on teaching people around the world to learn to sew and attracting customers with advanced sewing machine technology.
