Shandong Airlines Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Shandong Airlines Group") is a joint venture of nine shareholders, including Air China Co., Ltd. and Shandong Finance Investment Group Co., Ltd., engaged in the operation of air transport related industries. It was established on March 12, 1994 with the approval of the Civil Aviation Administration of the People's Republic of China, the Shandong Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government, and is headquartered in Jinan. Shandong Airlines Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Shandong Airlines Group, is the core enterprise of Shandong Airlines Group and a B-share listed company on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange, mainly engaged in air transport business.

With the equity relationship as the link, Shandong Airlines Group holds subsidiaries and branches such as Shandong Airlines Co., Ltd., Shandong Taikoo Aircraft Engineering Co., Ltd., Shandong Airlines Xiangyu Technical Service Co., Ltd., Shandong Rainbow Aviation Advertising Co., Ltd., and Shandong Airlines Hotel Management Co., Ltd., forming a business pattern with the transportation industry as the leader and integrating air transportation, aircraft maintenance, aviation training, hotel tourism, and advertising business.

Over the past 22 years, Shandong Airlines has always put "ensuring safety, paying close attention to efficiency, striving for punctuality, and providing high-quality service" in the first place. As of August 2017, it has 108 aircraft such as Boeing B737 family; It has branches and flight bases in Jinan, Qingdao, Yantai, Xiamen, Chongqing, Beijing, Urumqi, Guiyang and other places. It has formed a "big triangle" route network with Shandong, Xiamen and Chongqing as the fulcrum. At present, it operates more than 200 domestic, international and regional routes, with more than 3,700 flights per week to more than 80 large and medium-sized cities across the country, and opens routes to Taiwan and international routes to South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Cambodia and India.
