In order to extend the world-renowned international shipping service experience of Evergreen Shipping to the sky, Mr. Zhang Rongfa, the founder of Evergreen Group, established EVA Air in 1989, and signed a contract with Boeing and McDouglas of the United States on October 6 of the same year for the purchase of 26 aircraft with a total value of US$3.6 billion, which attracted the attention of the world aviation market.
EVA Air officially took off on July 1, 1991, and has been operating since its fleet of more than 70 aircraft, flying to more than 60 cities on four continents: Asia, Australia, Europe and the United States. It also cooperates with UNI Air to fly to major cities in Chinese mainland.
On June 18, 2013, EVA Air officially joined Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance, providing passengers with nearly 1,330 destinations in 192 countries and more than 18,500 daily flights through the extensive global network of Star Alliance member companies.

In 2012, the Boeing 777-300ER fleet launched the "Royal Laurel Class", with seats arranged in an inverted herringbone arrangement, wrapping passengers in their personal space, and can lie flat at 180 degrees, providing the most comfortable cabin environment and service supplies, and in 2014, it was ahead of the domestic aviation industry with Wi-Fi function in the new aircraft, and introduced the latest generation of Panasonic eX3 in-flight entertainment system and GCS (Global Communication Suite) The company is not only the world's leading global communications service system, but also the first airline to fully introduce GCS and eX3 to Boeing 777-300ER models from Boeing's original factory certification.
In 2015, EVA Air and Boeing officially signed a contract to introduce 24 787 Dreamliners, which are expected to be delivered from 2018 onwards.
