CSPTAL is a comprehensive intellectual property firm in China, established in 1984 with the promulgation of China's first patent law. At the beginning of its establishment in 1984, the Chinese Academy of Sciences specialized in serving the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the largest comprehensive scientific research institution in China. Subsequently, Zhongke became one of the few foreign-related intellectual property agencies authorized by the State Council. In the 90s of the 20th century, Zhongke was restructured into a private firm completely owned by shareholders. Since then, under the leadership of the former chairman, Ms. Li Yue, Zhongke has entered a period of vigorous development. In 2012, 263 professionals and clerks, including 112 patent attorneys and 17 attorneys, are committed to providing high-quality services to clients in Beijing, Shanghai, the United States (Seattle), Japan (Osaka) and Hong Kong, and to maximize the value of their intellectual property rights in China according to their needs.

Technical prowess

We believe that strong technical strength can bring added value to the needs of customers. With our combined technical capabilities and practical experience, we are able to transform products and methods derived from the creativity of inventors into the widest possible range of technical solutions for protection, which can be used for the benefit of patent drafting, representation in the patent application process and patent litigation. More than 80% of our 160 professionals have master's degrees and more than 17% have doctorates, and their professional backgrounds cover a wide range of technical fields. One-third of the professionals had been engaged in research and development in universities, research institutes or enterprises before they started their patent agency work, and 10 of them had the senior title of senior engineer, researcher, or professor, representing the most experienced group of patent attorneys in China. Today, we continue to recruit young talents from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the best universities in China to further strengthen our technical capabilities.
