Changchun is a national historical and cultural city, rich in historical relics, distinctive industrial heritage, and rich and diverse intangible cultural heritage.

As an old industrial base in Northeast China, Changchun has a unique industrial trajectory, industrial style and industrial history, and a large number of industrial relics represented by railways, Changchun trams, FAW (China FAW Group Co., Ltd.), Changying (Changchun Film Studio), Changke (CRRC Changchun Rail Coach Co., Ltd.), and Changtuo (Changchun Tractor Factory) have profound historical, technical, social, architectural or scientific value.

 

As of February 2017, Changchun has announced 19 national key cultural relics protection units, 59 provincial-level cultural relics protection units, and 138 municipal-level cultural relics protection units.

 

As of July 2017, there are 53 items (9 categories) on the list of intangible cultural heritage protection in Changchun, including 3 at the national level, 30 at the provincial level and 20 at the municipal level.
