Changchun is famous as the "Sculpture City" throughout the country. Changchun World Sculpture Park and the interior of the city have gathered more than 1,300 sculptures by nearly 700 sculptors from 216 countries and regions on five continents, covering various cultures such as Maya, Maori, Eskimo, Indo-Europe, etc. Changchun World Sculpture Garden has successively introduced Auguste Rodin's masterpieces "The Thinker", "Balzac", "Bronze Age", "The Righteous People of Calais" and "The Walking Man" from the Rodin Museum in France, making Changchun the first city in Asia to have Rodin's large-scale sculptures.

As of June 2020, a total of five World Sculpture Congresses and 20 International Sculpture Invitational Exhibitions have been held in Changchun World Sculpture Park [79-80]. The Changchun World Sculpture Conference enjoys a high reputation in the sculpture world at home and abroad, and is known as the "Olympics of sculpture". Located in the Changchun World Sculpture Park, the Changchun Sculpture Museum is the largest sculpture art museum in China.

 

On May 14, 2013, Changchun Urban Sculpture Society became the governing unit of China Sculpture Society.
