The eastern suburbs are the starting point of Chengdu's modern industry, and the Hongguang Electron Tube Factory, Pangang Iron and Steel Pipe Factory have all built factories here, so there are also many family communities here. The shopping malls in the Jianshe Road and Wannian Field areas were originally "family community shopping centers", mainly to meet the needs of surrounding residents, but in recent years, with the continuous popularity of the Eastern Suburbs Memory Creative Park and Jianshe Road Snack Street, the Jianwan business district has also welcomed a large number of tourists.
The distribution of shopping malls in the business district is scattered, and the commercial density is far less than that of the Chunyan business district, but the two areas have distinct characteristics and have a certain degree of shopping. The Jianshe Road area is backed by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, students and tourists are the main customer groups, and the snack bars throughout the area are the main way to drive customer flow. As a result, the malls here are a little inferior, and although they are numerous, they are small in size and relatively affordable. Although there is only one shopping mall in the MixC area, thanks to the strong influence of the MixC, the business district is still vibrant, and it is a successful example of a single shopping mall with a business district.
Although the Jianwan business district is crossed by Metro Line 4, the exit is far away from the shopping mall and snack street. Several shopping malls are built along the east line of the Second Ring Road, and the surrounding bus stations are dense, and the shopping malls have sufficient parking spaces, so taking a bus or driving by yourself is a more recommended mode of transportation.
Chengdu SM City Plaza
Opened in 2006, SM City Plaza is one of the first shopping malls in Chengdu and was invested by SM Group of the Philippines. SM Group is one of the industries of Mr. Shi Zhicheng, an overseas Chinese from Jinjiang, in the Philippines, and the word SM comes from his first store in Manila, Shoe Mart.

The MixC
The Mixc is a commercial real estate brand of China Resources Land, Chengdu Mixc is located in 24 cities, with a construction area of nearly 320,000 square meters, and is designed by Callison, a well-known commercial real estate design firm.
The MixC is huge, with perfect brands and a wide range of living, catering, services and entertainment. Located on the basement floor of the mall, Ole' Boutique Supermarket, a subsidiary of China Resources, supplies tens of thousands of goods, of which imported goods account for about 70% of the total goods, and the quality is better. On the fifth floor, there are many dishes from many places, such as Chengdu braised pork, Xinjiang restaurant in spice market, green tea, Xibei, Hong Kong and Kowloon, Yuanqi sushi, Fanxiao fresh Mexican cuisine, Thai hot pot and so on.
In the apparel sector, Decathlon, Uniqlo, Vans, Y-3, UGG, GIADA, Victoria's Secret, Pandora, Swarovski, Coach, OMEGA, covering nearly 100 brands from low price to light luxury. In terms of technology, Huawei, Xiaomi Home, and Apple have all opened experience stores here, and Shundian is also located on the fourth floor of the mall. In addition to Sisyphean Bookstore and Broadway Cinema, the mall also has the Sichuan People's Art Theater, Bistro Livehouse and Creative District, where various theaters, live performances, and exchange exhibitions take turn.
Since its opening in May 2012, the MixC has been well maintained and is still clean and new from the outside to the inside. The exterior adopts a "setback" design, with floor landscape corridors and roof garden greenery in place. The internal guidance information is clear, and the combination of beige floor tiles and soft yellow light makes the mall appear brighter. The floors are high and open, and the atriums on both sides of the escalators have a wide vertical space. However, the mall is understaffed, so you can only ask at the service desk if you need anything.
