Sweet but not spicy
Sweet or not spicy is a transliteration of the Japanese word "tempura", but unlike Japanese tempura, it is a type of fish cake. Sweet or not spicy is to make the fish paste into various shapes, fry it and cook it in the broth, so the traditional sweet is neither sweet nor spicy, and after it is introduced to Taiwan, it will be poured with some chutney sauce to eat. When I arrived in Chengdu, the sweetness and spiciness, completely changed, prepared an oil pot, fried various dishes, and then dipped in chili noodles to eat, just like another way to eat skewers, with its own Chengdu temperament.
Chengdu can fry basically any dish whether it is sweet or spicy, potato wedges, ham sausages, rice jelly, lettuce skin, and chicken tips are more representative. All kinds of dishes are fried out of the pot, and they are immediately put into the chili pepper to roll while the oil is fragrant, dry on the outside and moist on the inside, the price is affordable, and it is a good street food. However, such sweet and spicy is not easy to find in Chengdu, and a few of them are hidden in residential areas.
