The book house was founded at the initiative of Xu Jiang, president of the China Academy of Art, and has been around for 15 years. The interior of the library was designed by Mr. Yuan Liujun, with the design concept of "building books into a wall and stacking them into a mountain", with the sides of each layer of wooden steps hollowed out to fill with books, and the weaving cushions and lights are placed on the steps. The ceiling is designed as a mirror, and when you look up, you seem to be placed in the middle of a mountain of books.

In terms of book selection, the bookstore has a special editor to discuss with readers and understand the needs of readers. "The Road to Gome" is the book of Nanshan Book House, which took ten years and was edited and compiled by more than 100 teachers and students of Gome.

The second floor of the bookstore combines the three functions of coffee, leisure and reading, and is also a venue for holding events.
