Beijing No. 3 Kindergarten was founded in 1946, formerly known as Zhongshan Park Children's Recreation Department, renamed Zhongshan Park Kindergarten after liberation, and renamed to the current kindergarten in 1953. Located in Zhongshan Park on the west side of Tiananmen Square, Sanyu is known as the "kindergarten in the Forbidden City", and was recognized as a first-class kindergarten in Beijing in 1997 and is also an open unit for foreign affairs in Beijing.
Both the three kindergartens and the Beihai kindergarten are located in the royal garden, but compared with the Beihai kindergarten, the three kindergartens are more small and introverted. The three young children cover an area of only 2110 square meters, the garden house and the pine and ancient cypress and strange flowers and plants in Zhongshan Park are integrated, the rockery at the door, the stone carving, the enamel color on the door railing, carving, etc., have a deep sense of the courtyard. The traditional courtyard landscape is retained, but combined with a modern design: the bamboo forest has added cartoon character sculptures that children love; There are all kinds of vivid animal shapes among the mountains and rocks. The room is spacious and bright, and each class has a teaching area, a play area, and a reading area to facilitate children's activities.
The three children attach great importance to the education of traditional culture and traditional folk customs, and children can learn about many traditional folk arts, such as lion dance, singing Peking Opera, pasting window flowers, making lanterns, painting New Year paintings, etc., and taking "nature, big society" as the kindergarten curriculum, being in the garden, focusing on the cultivation of children's natural and environmental awareness. The three kindergartens will also often organize children's outings, because they are located in the Forbidden City, and there are abundant resources for visiting and learning, such as the Palace Museum, Zhongshan Park, Tiananmen Square and other places are frequented by children, and the school will also arrange for children to participate in the Tiananmen flag-raising ceremony.
There are a total of 6 teaching classes in the three kindergartens, 2 classes in each grade, and more than 200 children in the kindergarten. Each year, 55 to 60 children are enrolled in the Kindergarten Association, which adopts a full-time model. The admission requirements for the three kindergartens are in accordance with the conditions issued by the Dongcheng District Education Committee every year. The admission requirements of Dongcheng District are relatively clear, and in the case of the same real estate conditions, parents are fighting for the distance from the three kindergartens.
