The Five Mountains have been desirable since ancient times. The five mountains are divided into east, west, north, south and middle, namely Mount Tai in Shandong, Mount Hua in Shaanxi, Mount Heng in Hunan, Mount Heng in Shanxi and Mount Songshan in Henan. Among them, Xiyue Huashan is the highest, 2154.9 meters high, also Huashan is the most dangerous, the jade peak is erected, the mountain is steep, the wall stands thousands of thousands, so there is the saying of "the first mountain in the world of strange dangers". Song Dynasty poet Kou Zhun Shiyun: "Only the sky is above, and there are no mountains and Qi." Raise your head to the red sun and look back at the white clouds low. "It's about the steepness and steepness of Mount Hua.
Huashan is located in Huayin City, Weinan City, Shaanxi Province, on the north side of the watershed ridge of the Qinling Mountains, the Weihe Plain and the Yellow River meandered on its north side, and the Qinling Mountains stood on the south side. There are five main peaks in Huashan, which are east, west, south, north and middle, and its eastern, west and south peaks are all peaks, which are collectively called "the top of Huashan". The name of the north peak is "Yuntai", the shortest of the five peaks, independent of the side. The middle peak is called "Jade Girl", and it is an important checkpoint connecting the north peak with the other three peaks. The middle peak is surrounded by the east and west peaks on both sides, because it is relatively short, in ancient times it was only a small peak attached to the side of the east peak, and now it is also listed as one of the main peaks. The East Peak, also known as "Chaoyang", is the best place to watch the sunrise in Huashan. The south peak is the highest peak of Huashan, which is composed of Luoyan Peak and Songjuni Peak, and there are many Taoist scenic spots. The name of the west peak is "Lotus", because the boulder at the top of the peak resembles a lotus flower.
Du Fu once wrote: "Xiyue is respected, and the peaks are like children and grandchildren." "To praise the height and danger of Huashan. The thousand-foot building, the hundred-foot gorge and the Laojun furrow are collectively called the "three major dangers of Huashan", and the three places are famous for their steep slopes and narrow ladders. The stone stairs are very high, and you need to use both hands and feet to climb in large strides; There are more than a few hundred steps, endless steps to raise your head, and a thousand feet of cliffs to bow down. The "harrier turning over" on the south side of the east peak is one of the famous dangerous roads in Huashan, which is a stone step carved out of the cliff wall of the east peak. It is not so much a step, but a stone nest, which is different from the tall and narrow stone steps in the "Three Dangers of Huashan". The stone steps are not too wide, and visitors must use their toes to find fixed points, and a few of the steps need to be flipped from side to side like an eagle harrier. Because the stone nest is too shallow, in order to ensure safety, tourists must wear safety belts when climbing the harrier to turn over, so as to prevent their feet from slipping and falling.
The long sky plank road, known as "the first dangerous road in Huashan", is another kind of danger. The long sky plank road is located on the mountainside on the east side of the south peak, and is composed of two parts: ladder and plank road. The iron ladder is embedded in the stone wall, which can only be climbed facing the wall, and the left and right stone walls are enlarged, and it is difficult to move when climbing the ladder. The plank road is made of wooden planks, which are narrow enough for only one person and must move sideways. Different from the glass plank road, which "hangs above the abyss without falling", standing in a corner of the sky plank road, the bottom of the wooden board is empty, and you will fall if you are not careful. Today's Changkong plank road has not yet set up iron railings around the wooden plank, and tourists will slowly grope their way forward with their safety ropes on the stone wall iron cables, retaining the excitement and thrill of crossing the plank road. Canglongling, another famous dangerous road in Huashan, is located on the right side of the peak ridge of Xifeng, although it is not as dangerous as the Changkong plank road, but it is also thrilling and abnormal. The stone steps on the rock wall are narrow, and you must hold on to the iron railings to ensure safety.
Huashan morning climbing and night travel, both have their own characteristics, and the scenery seen is different. During the day, the west peak is the highest peak of Huashan, which is the best viewing point of the Yellow River and Weishui, and also the best place to watch the sunset. There are also many tourists who choose to visit Huashan at night, go up the mountain at about 11 o'clock in the evening, and wait until 4 or 5 o'clock in the morning to enjoy the sunrise. Among the five peaks, the sunrise scenery of the east peak is the most beautiful, and it is the best place to enjoy the sunrise. There are many tourists waiting for sunrise on the east peak, and they often have to wait in line, and on holidays, they need to occupy a seat a few hours in advance. If you plan to watch the sunrise, it is recommended to plan well and wait for a seat two or three hours in advance.
There are B&Bs or hotels on the five peaks, if you want to watch the sunrise and sunset, it is recommended that tourists go to the West Peak to watch the sunset the day before and stay overnight at the B&B on the West Peak or the East Peak, so that you can see the sunrise the next day. The B&Bs on the mountain are in rudimentary condition, but the prices are higher, so visitors can check the prices in advance before making a decision.
Different from Mount Emei and Mount Heng with dense vegetation, Mount Hua is a granite mountain, with sharp edges and corners, and the mountain is mostly bare stone walls, which are gray-white or earthy yellow. As far as the eye can see, the stone is green, there are countless boulders, and the mountains are scattered with ancient trees, and the temple stands in it. Huashan is one of the birthplaces of Taoism, and there are many Taoist scenic spots on the mountain, among which the South Peak is the main stronghold of Taoism. Taoist attractions such as Laozi Peak, alchemy furnace, and Bagua Pond on the south peak are still well preserved. In addition, there are Cuiyun Palace, Lotus Cave, axe splitting stone, sacrificial cliff and other strange stone scenic spots on the five peaks, there are inscriptions carved everywhere on the stone wall, there is a little less natural simplicity, and the inscription of "so-and-so to visit here" affects the beauty as much.
In order to facilitate travel, Huashan has a ropeway on the north peak and the west peak. However, the rest of the trail still needs to be completed on foot, often taking a full day, and it is recommended that visitors spend the night at a homestay near the foot of the mountain after descending the mountain in the evening to avoid too much rush. There are many and high stairs in Huashan, it is inevitable to climb in big strides, and the slope is steep, it is very inconvenient for female tourists to wear high heels or skirts, so it is recommended to climb the mountain with sneakers and trousers.
