Opened in 2016, Grand Volcano occupies a double-storey business area in Garden Road Art Commercial Street. The restaurant employs chefs who have worked in Korea for many years, and follows the simple industrial style decoration that fits the trend, and has a good reputation.
The restaurant's products are divided into four categories: meat, seafood, staple food and wine, of which beef accounts for the majority, and the subdivision is complete.
The former is actually a thin slice of snowflake beef served on a Barbie doll base, which is a little kitsch in appearance, but with the advantages of stable meat quality and ample portion, it attracts diners to order. Volcano Wu Gesang is the beef belly, named after its Korean literal transliteration, the fat and lean parts are obviously distributed, the oil is fragrant after roasting, the meat juice is richer, and the taste is fragrant. Rose beef tongue is a reversal of the common thick cutting method, and is served with thin slices, which only needs to be roasted for a short time and can be eaten, and the mouth is refreshing and tough.
The seafood dishes are generally of average quality. One of the signature Taiwanese cuttlefish sausages is made of pork with cuttlefish juice seasoning and coloring, and its appearance is charcoal black, although the taste is better than that of ordinary grilled sausages, but it is not a seafood product, and it is suspected of selling dog meat on the head of a sheep. Cheese prawns are cut in half and grilled with cheese filling, the taste is covered with cheese, and the umami of the shrimp meat is bland. The highlight of the restaurant is alcoholic beverages, which offer a relatively wide selection of Korean and Japanese soju and homemade drinks, as well as common beers such as Corona, Fujiba, and Asahi draft beer.
The restaurant continues to use charcoal grilling, each table is equipped with an independent range hood, and the recess around the baking tray provides free baked egg liquid, cheese corn and enoki mushrooms. In terms of environment, the restaurant is relatively decorated with drink bottles and cans, green plants and light bars, and the walls are covered with graffiti and murals. The service is relatively positive and enthusiastic, and the ordering and serving efficiency is high, but the roast service is often interrupted due to the peak of the meal, and diners need to grill their own meat when necessary.
