Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain - Institutional Reviews

Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain, the first hotel in China to be established by international resort hotel brand Six Senses, opened in June 2015. Founded in 1995, Six Senses has a portfolio of resorts and spas in world-renowned destinations, and has been acclaimed for its architecture that blends well with the environment and provides guests with a comfortable stay. Six Senses is located on islands or near beaches, while Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain, located at the foot of Qingcheng Mountain in Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province, China, is Six Senses' first non-beach resort.

Six Senses Qingcheng Hill features a traditional Chinese wooden beam house structure with modern Chinese furniture in wood colour, rattan lamps and lanterns, and a simple and comfortable layout. There are a total of 113 suites in the hotel, including two-bedroom courtyard deluxe villas, semi-detached duplex villas with viewing balconies, two-bedroom pool villas and other room types, among which the two-bedroom villas have a space area of more than 330 square meters, which is especially suitable for multi-person families.

The hotel's parent-child services cover children of all ages. Families with babies can request babysitting services and have a bassinet in their room. Children aged 0-6 years old can choose to have indoor activities at the Kids' Club. Older children can also enjoy the on-site book bar, cinema and more. In addition, the hotel offers hosting services. Open all year round, the indoor and outdoor pools are a special attraction for children who love to play in the water. The organic farm is also a highlight of the hotel, where vegetables, fruit trees, mushrooms, chickens and ducks are raised, and guests can enter the farm to experience activities such as picking vegetables and fruits, feeding poultry, etc. Bicycles, tennis, and board games are also good free family activities. Home cooking classes, private barbecues, yoga classes, Tai Chi classes and more are available for an additional fee.

The design of the hotel is creative in terms of details. The room card is made into a square foot coin from the Warring States period, and when guests get the square foot step coin room card, they will receive a few copper coins, which can be exchanged for ice cream, popcorn and other snacks at the hotel's snack shop.

Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain has a Chinese, Western and Thai restaurant, and the ingredients used are basically from the hotel's organic farms, and the quality of the products is not low, which can basically meet the needs of guests. Especially for the vicinity of Qingcheng Mountain, where business is not bustling, it is not easy to find a satisfactory restaurant. The restaurant is equipped with children's chairs and has several private rooms, which are suitable for family gatherings.

Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain is surrounded by well-known scenic spots such as Qingcheng Mountain, Dujiangyan and Panda Valley. Qingcheng Mountain is one of the four famous mountains of Taoism in China, a national 5A-level scenic spot, Dujiangyan is the world's largest and oldest irrigation system that is still in operation so far, Panda Valley is a panda stocking base set up by Chengdu Giant Panda Base in Dujiangyan City, where more than ten giant pandas can be seen.

Six Senses Qingcheng Mountain is about an hour's drive from Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, with the option of taking an intercity train between the airport and downtown Chengdu. The climate of Chengdu and its surroundings has four distinct seasons, with hot and humid and rainy summers, wet and cold foggy winters, and suitable climate in spring and autumn, which is the best season for staying and experiencing the season.
