Founded by Chen Jin, vice chairman of the Sichuan Photographers Association, Chen Jin Tea Shop is located on Tiexiangsi Water Street, and has won the favor of many tea customers with its traditional western Sichuan old teahouse design, face-changing performance and quiet green environment.
When it comes to the establishment of Chen Jin Tea Shop, we have to mention Chen Jin's well-known photo collection "Sichuan Tea Shop". Chen Jin observed thousands of teahouses in Chengdu and the surrounding areas, photographed a number of tea-drinking scenes, and made "Sichuan Tea Shop" with a detailed description of Sichuan tea shops, which is known as "a classic of tea folk culture research in southwest China". Benefiting from his in-depth knowledge of Sichuan teahouses, Chen Jin opened Chen Jin Tea Shop in 2013 based on the model of traditional teahouses in Chengdu. This tea shop in the style of a western Sichuan teahouse is not only a gathering place for local old tea drinkers, but also attracts many tourists who are interested in Chengdu's old tea houses.
There are not many types of teas available at Chen Kam Tea Shop, including Mao Feng, Tartary Buckwheat, Imperial Chrysanthemum, Tieguanyin, Zhuye Qing, Piaoxue, Mengding Manna and Mengding Yellow Bud. The latter four are Sichuan specialty teas, Mengding tea is the general name of various famous teas in Mengshan, Sichuan, and manna and yellow buds are the best quality varieties of Mengding tea. The color of bamboo leaf green tea is emerald green, flat and straight, and the two ends are slender, similar to bamboo leaves, so it is named bamboo leaf green, which is the most prestigious tea species in Sichuan, and almost every Chengdu teahouse has this tea. Piaoxue belongs to jasmine tea, mostly produced in Mount Emei, and the green tea soup is floating with snow-white jasmine, like snowflakes, so it is called Piaoxue. Piaoxue is not only mellow and sweet, but also has ornamental value, and is also a famous tea in Sichuan.
Chen Jin Tea Shop's special grade drifting snow, bamboo leaf green, Mengding nectar, and Mengding yellow buds have the best taste, and the tea soup is clear and mellow. While Mao Feng and other teas are more ordinary, slightly bitter, and the tea aroma is weakened after brewing a few times. The overall tea of Chen Jin Tea Shop is decent, not outstanding, and the most attractive thing is the style of its old teahouse in western Sichuan and its quiet and comfortable environment.
Chen Jin's tea shop is divided into two areas, indoor and outdoor, the wooden stage in the middle of the outdoor is very eye-catching, and two antique corridors are lined up around the stage, hanging red lanterns, displaying Chen Jin's photographic works. Under the shade of the cloister are dozens of tea tables and old-fashioned bamboo chairs from Chengdu. Compared with the Heming Tea House and the Daci Temple Zen Tea Hall, the Chen Jin Tea Shop has a wide outdoor space and a large spacing between the tea seats, so even if the seats are full, there will be no sense of crampedness. The tea shop is backed by the Iron Statue Temple with a history of more than 500 years, surrounded by camphor trees, tea guests sit on bamboo chairs, bask in the sun in winter, blow a cool breeze in summer, drink a cup of tea, leisurely. However, there are fallen leaves flying down from time to time outside, and occasionally ants and mosquitoes gather, and the chirping of cicadas in summer also brings a lot of interference, so it is necessary to do a good job of mosquito repellent.
The interior is also in the antique Chinese decoration style, divided into two parts: the hall and the private room, with air conditioning, and the private room is on the second floor, where the kung fu tea set is placed. The private room is located on the waterfront side, and the weeping willow stream can be seen from the window, and the scenery is pleasant. The minimum outdoor consumption is 15 yuan per person, while the indoor hall is 48 yuan, and the private room fee is 400 yuan. Outdoor teas are available in large cups, including gaiwan tea and glass cups, ranging from 15 yuan to 35 yuan, and the prices are affordable. After paying at the cash register, the waiter will deliver the teacup and the thermos pot filled with water to the café, and the customer will pour the water himself. Tea shops also sell snacks such as melon seeds and peanuts for 10 yuan a pack. In addition, on some special festivals, there will be opera performances on the outdoor stage of Chen Kam Tea Shop, and interested customers can consult the tea shop performance time first.
