There are many beautiful scenery on the shore of Xuanwu Lake, especially the embellishment of the ancient Jiming Temple, which makes the simple lake scenery have the incense atmosphere brought by the ancient temple. Ancient Jiming Temple is adjacent to Xuanwu Gate, was built in the Western Jin Dynasty, is one of the oldest temples in Nanjing, and has the reputation of "the first temple of the Southern Dynasty". After continuous renovation and expansion in different dynasties, the Jiming Temple that rises by the mountain today has been formed, and the incense is still vigorous.

As an ancient temple, Jiming Temple has a simple and quiet atmosphere, although there are many people who come to worship and visit, but the temple has never had a noisy environment. The most unique feature of Jiming Temple is its highest Medicine Pagoda, which was once the filming location of the Leifeng Pagoda in "The Legend of the New White Lady". Yakushi Pagoda was newly built in 1991, it is a seven-storey eight-sided pagoda, and it is the fifth large pagoda in the history of Jiming Temple, with a height of about 45 meters. As you climb the stairs from the Yakushi Pagoda, you can see the scenery outside the castle from a high vantage point. Every year around Qingming Festival, the cherry blossom road leading to Jiming Temple attracts tourists to come and feel the colorful beauty of Luoying.

At the back entrance of Jiming Temple, there is a Baiwei Zhai vegetarian restaurant, where visitors can order a meal to taste, and can also overlook the beautiful scenery of the Ming City Wall and Xuanwu Lake. Visitors who want to incense can receive three sticks of incense for free when they enter the door. The back gate of Jiming Temple is connected to the section from Shence Gate to Taiping Gate of the Ming City Wall, and visitors can climb the city wall directly from here.
