Jinling Hotel is one of the first foreign-related hotels in China, completed and opened in October 1983, and is famous at home and abroad as "the first large-scale international hotel managed by Chinese themselves". At the same time, the Lanpu Buffet Gourmet Restaurant was completed in Jinling Hotel, which has long become a window for Nanjing citizens to contact buffets. Nowadays, the buffet of the hotel has been moved to the Golden Bay Cafe on the first floor. 

Liu Chao Chun, Huaiyang Mansion, Yuwei Zhai, Markburg and the Mediterranean region represent the restaurants with noodle, Chinese, seafood, exotic cuisine and meat counters respectively, all of which offer more than 6 dishes, as well as additional desserts, sashimi and water bar areas. Among them, Markburg, Mediterranean and sashimi areas are the main meals, providing mushroom steak, pan-fried lamb chops, Argentine red shrimp, charcoal-grilled oysters and other meat and seafood dishes. In the sashimi section, there are common items such as tuna, salmon, and octopus, as well as a small amount of fresh seafood such as crab legs and mussels, but unfortunately the quality is only up to the standard level, and the meat quality and taste are bland and plain, and the supply is sufficient. Beef potstickers and stewed mutton soup are hidden delicacy, potstickers are shaped like a crescent moon, golden complexion, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, full of meat aroma, and the mutton soup is served in a small cup, the soup is pure white and rich.

The dessert and hot dishes were mediocre. Although the taste of tiramisu and fruit tart is fragrant, it has the disadvantages of cold and hard taste and high sweetness, and Nanjing dishes such as pork ribs with plum sauce, roasted white chicken with water chestnut and salted duck are often neglected and left hypothermic for a long time due to the low selection rate. The failure lies in the sushi section, which is made of rough and inferior quality, the rice grains are suitable for the diaphragm, and some of them are made of icing sugar and fruit slices as sashimi, which makes people speechless.

The restaurant is presented in the form of a café, with a variety of marble and wooden tables and chairs to decorate the atmosphere, with a fresh and elegant appearance. The seats are mainly square tables, and the dishes and tableware are all standard configuration of Western food. The dining layout is spacious, the table spacing is relatively reasonable, and the dining counter is concentrated on the left side of the restaurant, with clear functional partitions. During the meal, there are full-time staff to change the dishes, and there are also on-site and traditional handicraft demonstrations such as weaving and sugar makers on holidays, and the service performance is good.
