Qionglong Mountain is located on the east bank of Taihu Lake, in the western suburbs of Suzhou. The main peak, Qimao Peak, is 341.7 meters above sea level, which is the highest peak in Suzhou. It has a long history, but because it is so long, many anecdotes are not available.
The whole scenic area spans the three towns of Guangfu, Mudu and Xukou in Wuzhong District, and its winding mountain road is 12 kilometers long, running through almost all cultural attractions. The scenic area supports self-driving tours, and you only need to pay an additional 50 yuan for parking in the scenic spot, which is more humane. At present, the most popular scenic spots are Sun Wu Yuan, Shangzhen Temple, Ningbang Temple, Zhu Maichen Reading Platform, Wanghu Garden, Play Platform and so on.
Legend has it that Sun Wu wrote "The Art of War" in seclusion here in Sun Wuyuan, but the relevant historical facts are old and there is no exact record, and there is more of a commemorative value here. Sun Wu Yuan is composed of Sun Wu Thatched Cottage, Art of War Tablet Gallery, and Soldier Saint Hall. From the perspective of the environment alone, the attractions complement the surrounding environment, and in the summer it gives people a more sassy feeling, with a typical Shidafu style.
Shangzhenguan has a long history, which can be traced back to the early Han Dynasty. When Qianlong went to the south of the Yangtze River six times, he came to Shangzhenguan four times to pray for blessings, which shows his fame. Today's Shangzhen Temple is rebuilt on the basis of the total destruction of the Cultural Revolution, without historical charm, but all kinds of buildings are exquisite, magnificent, with a strong Taoist color. The Taoist priests of Shangzhenguan are very talkative, but there is a suspicion of inducing tourists to donate incense money, and it is recommended that tourists do what they can.
There are many scenic spots in Qionglong Mountain, but most of them are derived from various legends that are not accurately recorded, and at the same time, the degree of development is low. Compared with the cultural attractions, the scenery of Qionglong Mountain is more charming. Because of the scarcity of passenger flow, the scenic area is empty and the mountains are empty, and the photo effect is excellent. It is recommended that tourists climb to the top of the Wanghu Tower, where you can overlook the mountain and the beautiful scenery of Taihu Lake.
