Relais & Châteaux Hangzhou Lakeside Village Hotel - Institutional Review

On the edge of the West Lake, there is a Shikumen row alley from the 30s of the last century, which is also the largest and most intact "alley house" in Hangzhou. Four neat two-storey brick and timber buildings stand on either side of Changsheng Road, and a high-walled courtyard is shaded by a nondescript dark wooden door with a small sign reading "Lakeside Village", a member of the Relais & Châteaux hotel in Zhejiang.

The hotel rooms are divided into suites and villas. The suites retain the characteristics of the period, including the street crossing suites with the passage on the floor, and the flat-floor suites with split-level design. The rooms are all duplex designed, in order to match the theme of the Republic of China of the hotel, there are prints on the walls, and most of the furniture is also made of ash solid wood, which is recustomized according to the style of old-fashioned furniture. The living room on the first floor is mainly colored with dark wood, wooden shutters, satin cushions, octagonal tables and other items vividly restore the image of a Republic of China house, and the roof of the bedroom on the second floor is a triangular shape built of wood, and the Republic of China style is reflected in the details, the four corners of the big bed have wooden columns, the bedside is placed with old-fashioned telephones and matchboxes, and the bathroom uses a high-level hand-pulled toilet, pure copper nickel-plated sanitary ware, and even an enamel washbasin. The second floor also has a balcony with a wide view, facing the beautiful view of the West Lake, and some rooms have a separate small courtyard and study.

Xike is another name for Lotus, and Creek Living Room is the name of the restaurant in Lakeside Estate. The restaurant adopts the design of a lotus pond as a whole, with dark brown and navy blue as the base tone, and is decorated with a large number of glazed products. The menu is a French meal, and seasonal set menus are offered every year, and the prices are relatively moderate. The afternoon tea at Lakeside Estate has been praised by many visitors, and the form is close to that of English afternoon tea, with a three-tiered snack rack filled with pastries and fruits, and a variety of tea flavours for guests to choose from.

As a resort, of course, there are all kinds of activities. The lakeside estate not only provides guests with leisure activities such as boat tours of the West Lake and hiking on Jade Emperor Mountain, but also representative local experience activities such as asking for tea and tasting tea, listening to scriptures and singing Buddha. Living in the lakeside estate hidden by the West Lake, even if you just stroll on the stone road outside the house at night, it is enough to feel the retro style and the feelings of the Republic of China, and it is quite a quiet and quiet artistic conception.
