In the north of the botanical garden, south of Zhejiang University at the foot of Laohe Mountain, there is a "Gong" shaped area, this land is the Qingzhiwu that tourists come one after another every day. Red Desert is a more exotic restaurant in Qingzhiwu, close to the back door of the Botanical Garden, the area is much cleaner than the village entrance, and people who are familiar with it often come to eat.
Red Desert is a small building with white walls and gray tiles, the appearance is no different from the local buildings, except for a small number of wall hangings in the interior, there is not much Xinjiang decoration, the scenery outside the window is unique, the atmosphere is very relaxed, and there is no strong sense of oppression brought by exotic customs when sitting down to eat.
The chef of Hongmo is from Hangzhou, but his skills have also been recognized, and this restaurant is currently the "designated dining point of Xinjiang Chamber of Commerce in Zhejiang Province". Whether it is pasta, grilled or stir-fried dishes, I have a lot of experience in cooking in the back kitchen, and the finish is not bad, especially the gluten noodles have the most authentic taste of Xinjiang, which is much better than the restaurants of non-Xinjiang chefs such as CUMIN.
However, the phenomenon of declining quality in Red Desert is not due to the instability of chefs' skills, but the taste affected by the quality of ingredients. Mutton skewers can be said to be the most basic standard for measuring the taste of Xinjiang restaurants, and Hongmo's recent performance has been unsatisfactory, and it is obvious that the mutton has been frozen for too long. The chicken on the large plate is also unstable, and although the chef adds to the seasoning, the spicy taste cannot hide the fishy smell of the chicken. When it is not a meal, some pasta may not be freshly made, and the taste is much less delicious after freezing.
In contrast, the stir-fried dishes are significantly more stable, and cold dishes such as pepper chicken, yogurt, and mixed vegetables are also highly evaluated. However, the dishes of the red desert are not complete, especially the mutton dishes, there is still a certain gap between the old man and the Pamir, and the name of "the designated dining point of the Xinjiang Chamber of Commerce" cannot hide the declining taste, and the red desert is not a good choice for banquets. Fortunately, it's large enough for you to call friends and have a great time here. It's also nice for tourists to come and try it, the environment here is comfortable, the service is friendly, and it won't spoil your good mood.
The private rooms are located on the second floor, with better views than the first floor, and can accommodate 6 to 30 people.
