In 2000, the first generation of Hu Min's IELTS textbooks was officially published, and in 2013, the seventh generation of textbooks was born. At present, the new channel Hu Min IELTS textbook has formed six series: basic, strengthened, real question source, self-study tutoring, mock test papers, and question bank. According to incomplete statistics, since 1999, nearly one million people around the world have used the "Hu IELTS" series of textbooks.
In addition, according to the different situations of the IELTS test group, the new channel subdivides the candidate group and develops different series of teaching materials. For example, in response to the phenomenon of the IELTS test getting younger and younger in recent years, New Channel launched the IELTS training standardized grading course as early as 2006, and then launched the "IELTS Basic Edition", which is a series of accelerated textbooks tailored for secondary school English basic candidates, and is authoritatively published by the Higher Education Press of the Ministry of Education; In 2016, New Channel introduced Macmillan Education's "English Proficiency Preparatory Course for Studying Abroad", which is divided into four levels, each level has 2 volumes, and the difficulty is increasing in turn. Level 1 corresponds to IELTS 3.5-4, TOEFL 30, Level 4 corresponds to IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 90. Rather than directly teaching test-taking skills, this textbook will place more emphasis on developing students' academic ability and critical thinking.
Teachers are the core and backbone of education and training. As early as when the new channel was first established, it had a "Chinese IELTS Dream Team". At present, there are more than 100 teachers in the New Channel Dream Team across the country, including PhDs in the United States, Microsoft Research linguists, senior IELTS interviewers, Master of Education from Oxford University, CCTV bilingual anchors, IELTS Cambridge/Harvard and other world-famous universities and other elite scholars in the education field. The number of students in all classes is controlled within 25 people, and the implementation of strict management systems such as handing in mobile phones during class, sufficient homework after class, and teachers must carefully correct and give one-to-one feedback to students. TOEFL and IELTS both have classes according to scores and closed classes during winter and summer vacations, with tuition fees ranging from 14,000 to 29,000 yuan.
