There are very few ancient temples standing in the bustling areas of the city, and Jing'an Temple is clearly a special case, and this golden complex of buildings often attracts passers-by to stop and watch.
"Jing'an Temple" is a rail transit hub and a business district, and the scale of scenic spots is bound to be limited in a place where every inch of land is valuable. The ancient temple covers an area of only 22,000 square meters, but the palace tower is complete, scattered and compact, and it is not an exaggeration to call it magnificent. The whole building refers to the "Song Construction Law", the bucket arches, the eaves, and the ridge are quite distinctive, the porch hall conforms to the traditional characteristics of ancient Chinese architecture, and the typical intentions such as lotus flowers and swastikas highlight the theme.
Jing'an Pagoda is 63 meters high, is the tallest building in the scenic area, the top five pagodas mean five Buddhas in five directions, and the interior is claimed to have 108kg pure gold Buddha Ding, unfortunately the pagoda is usually not open to tourists, can not see the real face. The Buddhist building corresponds to the stupa and stands in the southeast corner of the temple. The stone pillar is 2.1 meters in diameter and 18 meters high, carved from a single piece of granite, and the base is a white marble fence. In addition, the temple is also a behemoth. At 26.71 meters high, it is the second tallest building, the upper hall is constructed of 46 whole teak columns, and the lower hall covers an area of more than 1,000 square meters, but there is no column in it.
Jing'an Temple is located 10 kilometers north of the original Shanghai County, and was gradually "swallowed" with the expansion of the public concession, so there is a current scene: ancient and modern styles of architecture are compatible; Traditional folklore is compatible with modern cities. Shanghai shows its tolerance to tourists, and the cloisters look down on the crowds. Jing'an Temple claims to have started during the Three Kingdoms period, but don't worry about it, the most recent destruction of the temple occurred in 1966, and the current buildings are all new. In addition, there are "fortune tellers" in the vicinity of the scenic spot, and it is not recommended to make eye contact with them to avoid being entangled.
