On June 18, 2016, Wanda Reign Hotel Shanghai officially opened for business, which is the flagship store of the Reign Shanghai brand. The hotel is built on the most expensive government-sold land in Shanghai's history at 9.22 billion yuan, with an overall investment of 3 billion yuan and an average single room cost of 15 million yuan.
The hotel is located in the Bund financial center, east of the Huangpu River, west of the Yu Garden, and Lujiazui across the river, overlooking the Bund, Pudong skyline, walking distance to Shanghai Old Street, City God Temple, 42 kilometers away from Shanghai Pudong International Airport, 16 kilometers away from Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport, only 6.4 kilometers away from Shanghai Railway Station, the location is extremely superior.
The exterior was designed by Foster Partners, a well-known British architectural firm, led by Norman Foster, the famous architect who designed Apple's new headquarters, and is a blend of the classic Bund and the old Shanghai city, but it does not look old-fashioned. The interior of the hotel was completed by Wanda Group Interior Design Institute, and the decoration continues the Shanghai Art Deco style, which is in harmony with the overall architecture of the Bund. Shanghai elements are cleverly integrated into it, such as the ubiquitous city flower, the magnolia, and the overall building is also designed in the shape of a sixteen-shop appearance.
The hotel has 193 rooms, including 14 suites, ranging in size from 45 to 288 square meters. The basic room type costs about 2,000 yuan per night, which is very cost-effective compared to its high investment. The rooms are designed in two different styles – beige as the main color, a modern style that combines art deco style with fashion elements, and an aristocratic luxury style with mahogany wood veneer, magnolia embroidery background and art deco. It fully reflects Wanda's sincerity in sparing no expense to create a luxury experience, and whether it is beautiful or not, the answer varies from person to person.

Wanda Reign Hotel Shanghai有376平方米会议室和720平方米无柱式大宴会厅，整体表现虽不及客房配置奢华出众，倒也庄重雅致。大宴会厅，层高8米，拥有180°外滩江景，更配备82平米高清LED屏幕及B&O音箱系统，可分割成两个同等大小的宴会厅，其余3个会议室，从39平方米到175平方米，均配备了视听设备，可以满足各类社交活动或会议需要。
