A-Niang Noodle Restaurant - Business Reviews

Opened in 1993, A-Niang is known as "Luwan District Taihe Restaurant", which was founded by Ningbo people. Since the death of the first generation owner of the store, "Ah Niang", the store has been repackaged by his descendants and reopened near the old store site, so there is today's Ah Niang noodles. In 2017, the restaurant was selected as a Bib Gourmand restaurant by the Michelin Guide, and its popularity is still high.

As the store's signature noodle dish, the reputation of yellow croaker noodles is far from the actual production: the amount of yellow croaker toppings is too small, and the fine bones and scales in the fish are not cleanly handled, which is the fatal wound of the meal, but fortunately, the red noodle soup allows the local noodle elements of the "thick oil red sauce" to be retained, so as not to make the out-of-town diners who come from afar run in vain. Another popular dish, fried eel noodles, has a similar problem, with a small amount of toppings and poor production standards, which is disappointing. It is said that when "Ah Niang" was alive, the noodle in the store produced a strong and fragrant soup, and the MSG was not stingy, and the diners who knew the scriptures would accompany it with a frozen cola after the meal, so that it had a fierce taste with the MSG in the mouth. But now that this unique taste no longer exists, new diners can only learn a thing or two from the mouths of past gourmets.

Although the noodle restaurant after the "Ah Niang" descendants took over is a little mediocre, thanks to the halo of Michelin, there are still many diners who visit it every day, but for many old diners, the authentic Ah Niang flavor no longer exists. The store environment is decent and spacious, and can accommodate up to 30 diners at the same time, but the phenomenon of waiting for tables is frequent, and diners need to wait patiently. The price of the food in the store is slightly higher, taking yellow croaker noodles as an example, a bowl is 25 yuan, and you need to order and consume when you enter the door.

The shredded eel stir-fried in miso has a rich flavor, but unfortunately the amount of toppings is too small to make people happy.
