Since its establishment in 1998, Weber English has opened more than 150 training centers in 60 cities across the country. In Beijing, Weber's seven centers provide English training services for young people over the age of 10.
Weber's curriculum is highly systematic, with a gradual sequence of phonics, vocabulary, pronunciation, rules (including grammar and language habits), writing, and foreign culture. There are three types of classes: small (1 to 1), medium (1 to 10), and large (1 to 25). The Chinese teacher and the foreign teacher in the small class take turns to teach, and the main lecturer is the foreign teacher, and the Chinese teacher is responsible for supplementing and answering the questions left over by the foreign teacher's class; Chinese and foreign teachers attend once a week, with a total of 96 sessions throughout the year; There are also 12 additional lessons for targeted missing and question-answering questions. Weber divides the course into 8 levels according to different levels of difficulty, with the lowest level being zero foundation, and basically reaching the level of English abroad after level 6. The whole set of courses attaches great importance to rigorous logical thinking and critical thinking skills, and the diversified forms of phonics, picture book reading, Lego mathematics, science experiments, etc., revolve around a topic, that is, CLIL teaching method to learn mathematics, science, geography, art, design and other subjects, so that children can deepen their understanding of things.
Of course, learning English is a long-term process, and 2 hours of classroom time per week is far from enough to significantly improve a child's English proficiency. In this regard, Weber has adopted the DynEd online learning system, which not only has electronic whiteboards, video iPads in class, but also interesting App games to supplement practice after class.
Weber's requirements for teachers are probably the most stringent. Foreign teachers must be native speakers with a bachelor's degree or above, have more than 2 years of teaching experience, and most of them hold TEFL, TESOL or CELTA certificates. Chinese teachers also need to have a bachelor's degree and professional English level 8 or above. Such high standards of teachers also limit the number of Weber Children's English Campuses to a certain extent.
In terms of fees, as mentioned above, Weber's courses are divided into 8 levels, and the price of the courses varies from level to level. 5-6 months for each level, about 13,000 yuan.
