The Experimental High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University, formerly known as the Women's High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University, was organized into a student movement long before the liberation, which was quite progressive. After the resumption of the college entrance examination in 1978, the school was placed under the jurisdiction of Beijing Normal University and renamed the Experimental Middle School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University. In 1998, the junior high school became independent and merged with Beijing No. 37 Middle School and was renamed as the branch of Beijing Normal University Experimental Middle School, which is still under the jurisdiction of the experimental middle school and belongs to its junior high school.

On the southeast side of the branch is the Erlong Road Experimental Middle School of Beijing Normal University, which is often confused. This is the product of the expansion of the middle school of the National Normal University, and the two schools belong to the same level in terms of organizational structure, and the teaching is mixed, and there is a great tendency to merge. Many parents don't realize that as early as 2012, when Erlong Road Middle School was renovated, its junior high school students were already attending classes at the branch. Students enrolled in the experimental middle school in 2015 also spent the first two years of junior high school at Erlong Road Middle School.

The two schools have been deeply mixed, and the teacher resources are highly overlapping, but the learning atmosphere of the branch is stronger and the results are better.

In 2015, a total of 198 students scored higher than 550 in the high school entrance examination, and the average score in 2016 and 2017 ranked among the top three in Xicheng. In terms of competition, the strength of the branch school should not be underestimated, and it has won awards in mathematics and informatics competitions for several consecutive years.

There are three types of classes in the High School Affiliated to Beijing Normal University, two each of the English experimental class and the mathematics experimental class, and the rest are ordinary classes. The school will organize a placement test after admission, and the form of the test paper is close to the high school entrance examination, but the difficulty will not exceed the outline. In 2014, after the reform of Xicheng Xiaosheng Junior High School Admission, the experimental branch of Beijing Normal University is also gradually expanding, the number of classes was 7 ten years ago, and it has increased to 18 teaching classes in the past two years, but the number of experimental classes has not remained the same, it is not difficult to find that the selection function of the placement test is more powerful than before, and the merit-based mechanism is everywhere.

Different from the branch of No. 13 Middle School, the teaching philosophy of the experimental middle school is biased towards quality education, which is also the characteristic preference of the middle school of the Normal University. Most students were able to complete their homework by 21:00, but the students in the lab class were not so lucky and usually continued to work hard at 23:00. In addition, the atmosphere of the tutorial class in the branch of the experimental middle school is also a bit strong, and many students in the experimental class will report to class on Saturdays.

The abundance of extracurricular activities is another characteristic of the secondary school of the National Normal University. In addition to visiting museums, Sutuo and other ordinary activities, the branch of the experimental middle school also often holds lectures, and the speakers are mostly academic and business celebrities, and academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences have been present to give speeches. "Leadership training activities" are also a major feature of the school, in which students fully exercise their communication, speech and team planning skills, and the school will contact the managers of global first-line enterprises to guide the students, which is quite golden. In recent years, the venue for leadership training has gradually shifted to foreign countries, mainly in developed countries, and students can also enjoy exotic scenery while improving their abilities. Not every student can enjoy this resource, usually no more than 100 participants per activity, and must be a class leader.

Beijing Normal University Experimental Middle School is one of the "Four King Kongs" in Xicheng, and the branch has always maintained a good reputation as its junior high school, with excellent strength in terms of teachers and grades. In 2014, the era of the big allocation came, and the average score of the high school entrance examination in the branch school was not affected, but the number of students in the high score was slightly reduced. Perhaps the results of the 2018 high school entrance examination are more worth waiting for, and the teaching results of the branch and Erlong Road Middle School will be tested this year. In 2017, more than 50 second-year junior high school students won awards in the Beijing Middle School Mathematics Competition, and the teacher resources and the strength of top students in the junior high school are still worthy of recognition.

The concept of equalization teaching is the direction of Xicheng's education reform, and the normal middle school is bound to make some moves as a leader in the education field. Perhaps the mixed teaching model between Longer Road Middle School and the branch school will be further promoted, and some parents have reported that the teacher team of Huaxia Girls' Middle School has already had exploratory interaction with the experimental middle school.
