Beijing Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort - Institutional Reviews

For most Beijingers, Shijinglong Ski Resort, founded at the end of the last century, is a childhood memory. This ski resort is located in Zhangshanying Town, Yanqing District, covering an area of more than 600 acres, with Longqing Gorge in the east and Guanting Lake in the west, with beautiful scenery. Shijinglong is one of the earliest ski resorts in Beijing and the first ski resort in the country to adopt artificial snowmaking.

In 2016, Vanke Group, Badaling Tourism Corporation, and the original Shijinglong Ski Resort reached a strategic cooperation and invested tens of millions of dollars to upgrade Shijinglong Ski Resort. Since then, "Shijinglong Ski Resort" has become "Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort" and is officially classified as Vanke Ice and Snow VSKI. According to the official introduction, Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort has increased its ski area by nearly 70%, from 120,000 square meters to 200,000 square meters. The peak reception capacity of the ski resort reached 5,000 people, and the overall reception capacity increased by 1.5 times. It has to be said that at the end of 2016, during the trial camp stage of Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort, due to the staff's unfamiliarity with the service process and the lack of proper service attitude of individual staff, many tourists who came here left a bad impression. In the 2017~2018 snow season, the overall service situation has been greatly improved.

Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort has 11 snow guns and two Prinoth snow groomers, which are a reasonable match with 20 square meters of snow. After the upgrade, Vanke Shijinglong has 10 ski trails: 1 advanced trail, 4 intermediate trails, 4 beginner trails and 1 barrier-free ski trail for the disabled, which is generally suitable for beginners. The only advanced trail with a length of 1,360 meters and a maximum gradient of 30 degrees has made many skiers addicted. If you're looking for a more skillful skiing experience, there are two backcountry trails not to be missed. The official prop park and chase track connect the intermediate and junior areas, and visitors can prove their skills by gliding smoothly over the jumping platform and other facilities.

As for the transportation equipment, the ski resort has not made substantial upgrades, and is still equipped with a 4-person chairlift, a 2-person chairlift and a tow for the middle and upper slopes. For users of beginner ski slopes, Vanke Shijinglong has set up 5 snow magic carpets. In addition to this, there are 4 tows at other venues. Officially, the peak delivery capacity can reach 5,000 people/hour. Even so, the queues were still serious and the chairlift experience was not good enough.

The ski hall of Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort has been renovated, and the environment in the hall is very brand new, which is a great improvement compared to the previous one. There are 5,000 sets of ski equipment, snow suits, etc. available for rent in the hall. Vanke Shijinglong has replaced the old equipment, so many ski equipment and snow clothes are brand new. New visitors only need to follow the procedures of "Snow Suits→ Snow Goggles→ Skis/Shoes, → Ski Equipment Shop". It is worth mentioning that the official helmet is provided free of charge for tourists to use, and visitors who do not wear it are not allowed to enter. In addition, the storage cabinet is very small, and the compartment can only fit one pair of shoes, so it is recommended that users bring less things.

Vanke Shijinglong Ski School is one of the first ski schools in China to have ski instructors with international certification qualifications in China and Switzerland. Even for the children's ski school, Vanke Shijinglong chose to cooperate with the Japanese Panda Snowman Company. The ski school has a variety of ski lessons to choose from, such as individual teaching, class teaching, winter camp, and improvement class. For ordinary tourists, the most direct contact is the enthusiastic instructor on the ski slopes. Most of the Vanke Shi Jinglong's service attitude is good, but it is not lost. In addition, the independent teaching area also ensures the safety of visitors to a certain extent.

Catering is available at the ski resort. The fast food restaurant has undergone a renovation just like the ski hall. Although the environment is still not distinctive, it is fortunately clean. Fast food restaurants have fewer dishes and can only support up to 500 people at the same time. There is nothing to say about taste, it is basically a survival need. For those who care more about the food experience, you can head to the Gravel Four Seasons Club at the intersection of the intermediate and beginner roads at the foot of the mountain, where the taste of Western-style sweets is okay.

There is an outdoor pool next to the ski slopes, which is one of the few places in Tokyo where you can soak in the snow. Visitors can enjoy the warmth of the ski slopes here. Vanke Shijinglong also has accommodation. Shijinglong Hotel has a total of 33 sets of standard rooms and triple rooms, but the conditions are relatively general.

Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort has cancelled the entrance fees and parking fees for the scenic spot. The parking lot is also equipped with a large number of charging piles, which shows enough sincerity to visitors.
