Contemporary MOMA Broadway Cinematheque - Institutional Review

Founded in 1950, Broadway Circuit is now one of the largest cinema chains in Hong Kong, with branches in major cities on mainland China. Although the hardware equipment of the contemporary MOMA Broadway Cinematheque (bc MOMA) is not outstanding, it is one of the most cinematic theaters in Beijing, and with its excellent geographical location and environment, it has become a large gathering place for movie fans. The theater is located in the contemporary MOMA complex, designed by the famous American architect Steven Holl. The theater is located in the center of the building, floating on the open water, shaped like a diamond, with a strong sense of visual impact. The metallic exterior can be used as a huge curtain for a movie at night. The glass wall at the entrance of bc MOMA is engraved with the great works of film history, which is in line with the tone of the high-quality films it shows. In China, many excellent works of young directors have basically missed the audience except for showing their faces at film festivals. The Broadway Cinematheque also provides screening opportunities for young mainland directors to interact directly with the audience. bc MOMA also exclusively screens high-quality films, and regularly holds new film screenings and master retrospectives from various countries, with famous directors Tornatore and Hou Hsiao-hsien as guests. In November 2017, bc MOMA held a film screening event at the 5th German Film Festival, broadcasting films with distinctive German film characteristics such as "My Simple Brother", "Trial", and "The Age of Passing Light". bc MOMA also has a member area on the second floor, where the small library contains film magazines from all over the world, more than 100 English film books, as well as a large number of original DVDs and movie soundtracks, which members can borrow for free. Members can borrow DVDs and books for free, with the first 14 days and the renewal 14 days. Short films taken by members can also be screened here for free. bc MOMA is a bridge between fans, filmmakers, and films, so it has been praised by some well-known film critics in Beijing as "one of the most ideal cinemas for movies". MOMA has 3 screening halls, a total of 400 seats, the screen and sound and other hardware can only be regarded as the industry's upper class level, Hall 1 is an out-and-out atrium, the 7th and 8th rows have a good viewing effect, and the G row in the middle is the best 7 and 8 seats; There is also a small stage between the screen and the audience, so rows E and F are also good at the front. If you're looking for a movie in the small hall, Broadway Hall 2 is still a good choice. Seats about 1/3 between the screen and the projector, especially those in row D 6, 7, and 8, have the best immersion. In Beijing, the only place where you can see the Cantonese version of Hong Kong movies, and when the original Cantonese Broadway cinema opening credits came out, it was indeed a small surprise. Broadway's high-end sub-brand, Palace, has two branches in Beijing, neither of which has its most competitive LUXE giant screen hall, and the environment is very fashionable and gorgeous, so you can experience it if you don't pursue a big screen.
