The Orchid is a B&B located in the depths of Baochao Hutong in Sijiu City, which is filled with foreign tourists from all over the world every day to experience the culture of Beijing's hutongs, and the restaurant is located on the second floor and terrace of the B&B, and the owner has named it "Toast at The Orchid". Although Toast is small in size and doesn't offer many dishes, it is highly regarded by foreigners and is one of the most popular brunch restaurants in Beijing.
Brunch is Toast's staple menu, all of which are Mediterranean-style and designed by Joel, the owner of Montreal, Canada. Many of the sauces used in Toast are made in-house, and even the sausages are filled in-house, making them the most unique of the many brunch restaurants in Kyoto in terms of ingredients and taste. You won't find Brunch's signature food, eggs benedict, but instead of Shakashuka, which is full of northern African style; You won't see the same bacon or steak, but the most tangible meat is not only the restaurant's own sausages, but also a grilled lamb chop made with yogurt, which has a unique flavor. In addition to the carefully prepared food, the store also has a selection of wines, and if you want to catch up with a few friends on the weekend, there may be no better place to be.
Toast has a large number of foreigners dining and partying here all year round, and most of the waiters in the restaurant are also from abroad, full of international style, but the slight disadvantage is that there are not many brunch dishes served, and the regional flavor is relatively strong, not every customer is accustomed to its unique taste.
The restaurant is strategically located, the Drum Tower, Shichahai, Nanluoguxiang, and Lama Temple are all close at hand, if the weather is warm, choose to dine on the outdoor garden terrace, and the scenery of the entire Sijiucheng Hutong is in full view. From April to May every year, the area around the restaurant and the rooftops of the alley are covered with greenery, which adds more life and makes people feel refreshed. Toast is almost full for brunch every day, so if you want to go there specifically for a try, you can book a table 1-2 days in advance, the restaurant is located deep in the alley, the surrounding traffic is congested and parking is not convenient, it is not recommended to drive.
