Nanshan Chinese and English School was founded in 1999, formerly known as Shenzhen Baishizhou Chinese and English School. The principal of the school, Mr. Lan Jinren, is a strong man in the field of education, in addition to Nanshan Chinese and English, he also founded Nanshan Foreign Chinese and Bao'an Foreign Chinese, and all three schools attach great importance to English teaching.

In the 2017 high school entrance examination, 9 students from Nanshan Chinese and English School were admitted to the Big Four, with a rate of 12.68%; 18 students were admitted to the Eight Universities, with a rate of 25.35%; 22 students were admitted to the top ten, with a rate of 30.99%. Although its 8th and 10th percentages ranked 20th and 16th respectively in the city, more prominent than the schools ahead of it in this list, it was ranked lower due to the small number of students taking the test and the results were of little reference.

The junior high school bilingual department of Nanshan Chinese and English aims at the high school entrance examination and adheres to the small class teaching of about 26 students per class. It adopts the teaching model of "two sets of courses and two sets of teachers", and while completing the curriculum stipulated in the syllabus of the Ministry of Education of China, it also opens the core courses in the international curriculum. The core courses of the Bilingual Department include Chinese, Mathematics, English, Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography), History and Society, etc., and qualified foreign teachers are hired to teach Mathematics, Science, and English in English. It enables students not only to take the high school entrance examination, but also to effectively connect with the international curriculum and prepare for going abroad.

The school has multi-form, multi-disciplinary competitions, weekly tests, monthly examinations and other discipline activities; From time to time, a wealth of social practice activities, art festivals, bilingual festivals, sports festivals, group competitions and other activities are held; Class management is carried out by means of group cooperation, discussion and interaction, and democratic management.

But there are still deficiencies in the school that are worth pointing out. Some parents said that the quality of teaching in Nanshan Chinese and English is relatively average, and the teachers are highly mobile. At the same time, the school still does not pay close attention to learning in the third year of junior high school, still organizes outings once a semester, and does not make up classes on holidays. However, whether this is good or bad is worth considering for parents.

Nanshan Chinese and English implement a day system, school buses pick up and drop off in the morning and evening, and students have lunch and rest at school at noon, and there are full-time teachers to manage them. If students are not used to taking a lunch break, the school also offers a variety of interest classes for students to participate in during the lunch period. As for the school meals, most students said that they were not delicious.
