More than 20 years ago, a group of young people founded the first Sisyphean bookstore in Zunyi, the old city of Guizhou, with a beautiful dream, becoming the pioneer of independent bookstores in the 90s. The name Sisyphus comes from the myth of "Sisyphus", which means that it repeats itself and transcends suffering. Sisyphean Bookstore only operated in Guizhou in the early stage, and began to develop across provinces after 2007, with fruitful results all over the country, and now has more than 40 branches across the country. In 2016, Sisyphus entered Guangzhou, and currently has two stores in Guangzhou. Sisyphean Bookstore is the first bookstore in China to try to open up shops in shopping malls, and after a period of exploration, it has gradually formed its own systematic, large-scale and unique business model. Guangzhou's two Sisyphean bookstores are both located in popular shopping malls, with a wide range of books, compact layout, clear zoning, meticulous navigation, exquisite selection of books, and popular reading materials such as literature, prose, and novels. The decoration of Sisyphean Bookstore is mainly in simple European style, retro and nostalgic, and its façade windows have many exquisite handicrafts and book displays, especially the mailbox-shaped windows on both sides of the door, which are quite eye-catching and very distinctive. The reading area of the bookstore is set up in front of the glass curtain wall, and customers sit in the reading area and face the outside of the store, which blends in with the window and becomes a unique landscape of the bookstore. In addition to the books, Sisyphean Bookstore also has its own spin-off, "Vector Coffee", which is located at the back of the bookstore, in a fairly quiet and comfortable environment. The "Fuji Life" Creative Center and the Children's Pavilion are located in a prominent corner of the bookstore, with a variety of exquisite trinkets to provide a small reading world for children. The two Sisyphean Bookstore stores in Guangzhou are basically similar and have the same decoration style, but the Wanling Hui store is more in-depth than the CapitaLand Yunshang store, the space is more layered, and the partition is more detailed, which is relatively more recommendable.
