Gaoxin Middle School was founded as early as September 2004, formerly known as the High-tech Department of Nanshan Foreign Chinese School, and after the establishment of Nanshan Foreign Chinese Education Group in 2012, the school was renamed Nanshan Foreign Chinese School High-tech Middle School, which is the largest branch of Nanwai Group's junior high school.
As one of the top schools in Nanshan District, Gaoxin High School has always achieved outstanding results in the high school entrance examination, and in 2014, it achieved the first place in the city's local schools. Except for 2014, when the Big Four rate was 27.3%, the school's Big Four rate has been around 15%, and in 2017, it was 16.14%. In 2017, the number of students admitted to the top ten was 125, and the top ten rate was 49.21%, ranking fourth in Shenzhen. Gaoxin Middle School covers an area of 20,038 square meters, with a construction area of 14,300 square meters, with junior high school students as the main body and some sixth-grade students. There are 13 functional rooms in the school, the library has a collection of nearly 28,000 books, and all classrooms are equipped with multimedia audio-visual education platforms and air conditioning. However, the school's sports facilities are not sufficient, with only a 400-meter running track, 4 outdoor basketball courts, a 5-a-side football field and a volleyball court.
There are no key classes in Gaoxin Middle School, and most of the students are directly promoted from Nanwai Primary School, so they are familiar with each other. The school pays more attention to English in teaching, English is divided into AB classes, there are English classes every day, there is a foreign teacher class and an English dubbing class every week, and English culture week is held every year. The English textbooks also reflect the importance that Gaoxin High School attaches to English, and it imports Longman textbooks directly from Hong Kong, while most junior high school English classes in Shenzhen use the Oxford textbooks of Shenzhen or Shanghai.
Many students said that the management of the high-tech high school is relatively relaxed, "I don't feel how much pressure there is in the high school entrance examination", and the school does not require students to participate in make-up classes, but the teachers are also serious and responsible. There is a strong learning atmosphere in the class, and many students participate in tutoring and training outside the school during holidays.
