"Jiqingli" got its name from the local Jiqingli village in Yingde, and tea production began before the Ming Dynasty. Jiqingli's own tea garden black tea valley, covering an area of more than 10,000 acres, is used for the cultivation and planting of tea varieties such as Yinghong No. 9, Meizhan and Jinxuan, of which more than 3,000 acres are planted with Yinghong No. 9, with an annual output of nearly one million catties. Its founder, Zhang Zhigang, is currently the president of the Yingde Tea Industry Association.
 
When we talk about Yingde black tea, more often we talk about Yinghong No. 9, so to speak, Yingde black tea is divided into Yinghong No. 9 and other Yingde black tea. Yingde black tea is generally made from Yunnan large-leaf tea plants introduced in Yingde, while Yinghong 9 is the result of years of careful breeding. According to the data of the Guangdong Provincial Institute of Tea, in 2014, the area of tea gardens in Yingde City was 73,400 mu, of which the area of Yinghong No. 9 was about 50,000 mu.
