The predecessor of the American Standard was established in 1875 and went public in 1929. In 1985, American Standard established its first factory in China, and was the first bathroom brand to enter China. In 2007, American Standard became the sole bathroom product partner of the Shanghai Tennis Masters Cup. In order to upgrade its products and protect the environment, American Standard closed its cast iron bathtub factories around the world and developed a new American Cast material, which uses a patented manufacturing process that combines porcelain surfaces, glazed metal and synthetic backings to optimize the defects of cast iron bathtubs: its thermal insulation performance is twice that of cast iron bathtubs, and its durability, weight and noise level are better than cast iron bathtubs, which is a patented product of American Standard. American Standard bathtubs are priced in the mid-range and offer a medium price.
