As a veteran of the network market, D-Link's technical strength and product performance are not bad, and D-Link DWA-182 ranked fifth in the selection of the best 11ac wireless network cards by PC ADVISOR. In addition, D-Link's performance in the field of professional Ethernet switches is also eye-catching, ranking among the top five in the world.
In the consumer network market, D-Link can be regarded as a typical example of "get up early in the morning and catch up late". On the one hand, due to the fact that the number of D-Link products is always small, the selectivity is too small, and the price is relatively high, it is difficult for D-Link to compete with TP-Link, a manufacturer that is in full bloom in the high, medium and low-end, in the network card/router market where the performance is relatively difficult to open. On the other hand, D-Link itself attaches more importance to the professional-grade switch market, while the general consumer market mainly expands to other smart home product lines, and routers/network cards account for a small proportion, so after the rise of mainland manufacturers such as TP-Link, D-Link has to give up the market share of network cards/routers and take a back seat.
Although D-Link is a Taiwanese company, its factory is located in Dongguan and provides more than 80% of D-Link's products in the global market. Like the router, the network card of D-Link also has only one DWA series, D is the first letter of D-Link, W stands for wireless wireless products, A stands for Adapter (adapter), the larger the number after DWA, the better, except for the most basic DWA-133, the rest are AC dual-band wireless network cards. However, there are only a few products on sale in D-Link, and the number of products is very different from that of TP-Link.
Among D-Link's wireless network cards, the most distinctive is the DWA-192, because it uses a very unique spherical shell, which looks like a Bluetooth speaker, and it is difficult to think that this is a wireless network card. In terms of performance, DWA-192 has a maximum transmission rate of 1900M, which is still higher than most wireless network cards on the market, although it is an old product released in 2015. The mainstream network card recommends DWA-171, which is a USB wireless network card with a more regular appearance, the length is shorter than the USB flash drive, about the size of an adult's thumb, whether it is with a notebook or a desktop, it is more suitable, and it is also very easy to carry. However, as a built-in antenna network card, the signal strength of the 1T1R antenna is theoretically inferior to that of the external antenna network card. In addition, the network card does not support Linux system, and the price of about 100 yuan is still slightly higher than that of similar TP-Link products.
