Recommended models: SMX series, AVRX series
In the North American market for small and medium-power UPS, APC and Cyberpower have few competitors – except for Tripp Ltie.
In the Meiya sales list, APC and Cyberpower occupy about 70 seats, and the rest, nearly 20 seats are in the hands of Tripp Lite. Among the top 10 UPS items in 2018 selected by Bestseekers, three are APC, two are Cyberpower, and two are Tripp Lite.
Founded in 1922, the company has been one of the world's most well-known inverter manufacturers in the 60s of the last century, and the inverter can replace the DC power supply of the battery with AC power, which is the core component of UPS. In 1980, Tripp Lite became the first company to design a UPS system specifically for desktops.
As a very well-known brand in the United States, Tripp Lite has a relatively limited influence outside North America, and at present, only some agents in China have Tripp Lite's UPS supply, and there are very few e-commerce channels. Due to the difference in mains voltage, its North American model does not support domestic electrical equipment. Therefore, the models suitable for domestic are not so perfect, mainly online interactive, and there is no backup UPS. Fortunately, the best home model of the Tripp Lite product is its online interactive UPS.
The compact AVRX series and the smart SMX series are Tripp Lite's main online interactive products, inheriting Tripp Lite's popular North American models, the AVR and Smart series.
The SMX series is the flagship model of the Tripp Lite online interactive model, and in North American websites such as Bestseekers, the Tripp Lite has gained the same level of competitiveness as APC and Cyberpower by relying on the Smart series that is the same as the SMX. The SMX series is available in 1000VA and 1500VA with loads of up to 500 and 900W respectively, and there is no model below 1000VA. The SMX series has an LCD screen for real-time status display at a similar price to APC's counterpart. Depending on the model, the price is in the range of £190~£270.
The AVRX series is the base model of the Tripp Lite and is available in two different models: 550VA/300W and 750VA/450W. For home users, 300~450W can actually meet most of the use cases, and the power of a computer will not exceed 200W. In addition to the three sockets that can be used as backup power supplies, the AVRX series also has three sockets that are purely anti-power surge, which cannot provide power to the device, but can filter out sudden changes in voltage when power is available, and protect the equipment safety. Currently, the price of the AVRX series is around £87~£101.
If you want to buy UPS by Tripp Lite, domestic channels are very scarce. It is recommended to buy in Yingya, and the mains power in the UK is 230V similar to that of China. Considering that the mains power itself fluctuates, there is almost no gap between 230V and 220V, so they can be compatible with each other. Since the socket of Tripp Lite UPS is a zigzag C13 socket, you can use it on our equipment by purchasing a plug adapter, and there will be no incompatibility problems due to the difference between the national standard plug and the British standard plug.
