Leica Geosystems has always been concerned about the development of China and has maintained a close business relationship with Chinese users for a long time. As early as the beginning of the 80's, the predecessor of Leica Geosystems GmbH was established in Hong Kong as a consulting office to develop the Chinese market on a large scale, followed by the establishment of Leica Geosystems GmbH (Hong Kong) in 1987. In 1994, with the deepening of China's reform and opening up and the rapid development of the surveying and mapping instrument market, Leica Geosystems made a strategic adjustment to the global market, and the Beijing representative office of Leica Geosystems Co., Ltd. was formally established. In 2004, Leica Geosystems increased its investment in China: Leica Geosystems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. was established as the technical center of Leica Geosystems in China. In 2006, the Beijing representative office of Leica Geosystems Co., Ltd. was officially registered as Leica Geosystems Trading (Beijing) Co., Ltd., which became the operational headquarters of Leica Geosystems in China. The Leica Student Study Abroad/Internship Program was also officially launched. All these have laid a solid foundation for the long-term development of Leica Measurement Systems in China.
In order to bring more professional and efficient services to Chinese users, Leica Measurement Systems has set up more than 20 sales and service centers in major and medium-sized cities in China with partners in Chinese mainland, and established a number of Leica professional maintenance organizations in Beijing, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Zhengzhou, Anzhou, Zhuozhou, Chengdu and other places. At present, there are more than 200 maintenance service and technical support personnel distributed across the country, including a group of experienced researchers, professors and other senior talents. Through the increasingly perfect service system, Leica measurement systems has achieved remarkable market performance, and the Leica brand has become more popular in China and occupies a leading position in the market.
