Faurecia brand introduction

Faurecia佛吉亚logo

Founded in 1997, it is one of the top ten auto parts brands, a Fortune 500 company, and the world's leading auto parts manufacturer, committed to providing high-quality innovative products, technical solutions and services for automobile manufacturers

Faurecia was founded in 1997 through the merger of Bertrand Faure, a company specializing in spring car seat cushions, and ECIA, a Peugeot subsidiary, a manufacturer of car seats, front ends and automotive interiors, and a leading European market leader in emission systems.

In 1998, Faurecia had 32,000 employees and sales of nearly 4 billion euros. The Faurecia Group quickly took the lead in the European automotive seating industry. Later, Faurecia took another step forward in the U.S. automotive emissions system market through the acquisition of AP Vehicle Systems.

In 2000, Faurecia acquired Sommer Allibert, which was founded in the 80s (a merger of Alfred Sommer, a manufacturer of automotive floor coverings, and Allibert, a manufacturer of plastic components).

Today, Faurecia has grown into a leading global company with 320 offices in 34 countries, including 30 R&D centers. It has four core businesses: automotive seats, interior systems and emission control systems. Faurecia is the world's No. 1 manufacturer of seat frames and mechanical components, emission control technology and automotive interior systems. The Group is also the third largest manufacturer of finished chairs in the world.

Faurecia has strengthened its capabilities in various business areas through a number of acquisitions. In 2010, Faurecia acquired Emcon Technologies, a specialist in emission systems, and became a leader in emission control systems. In 2012, Faurecia's operations at its headquarters in France were also acquired.

In the same year, Faurecia acquired Ford's Saline, Michigan facility, strengthening its position in the North American automotive interior market and making Ford the group's second largest customer.

Asia is Faurecia's current strategic location. The company has been operating in China for more than 15 years and is bringing overseas customers into this promising market. Faurecia has begun to establish strategic alliances with local Chinese automakers such as Geely (now Volvo), Sunrise Group and Changan Automobile.
