Walker History

In 1880, Georg Walker founded the Volkl company in Straubing, Germany, after himself, and horse-drawn carriages were the company's first products.

In 1923, Franz Walker produced the first Walker ski, and the company's main business shifted from the production of cars to the production of snowboards.

In the summer of 1972, Walker introduced its first tennis racket, the Zebra, the world's first all-composite tennis racket, constructed of a unique steel structure that was tough and comfortable to use. Zebra was born as the first tennis revolution in Walker's history, and it has since been emulated.

In the late 70s of the 20th century, the Servo Soft series became the best-selling tennis racket in Germany at the time and set a new standard in tennis racket comfort. Walker became the leading brand in the German market, selling 300,000 Servo Soft tennis rackets.

In the 80s of the 20th century, players such as Sylvia Hanica used the World Cup Series tennis rackets to succeed in the ATP and Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournaments.

In 1992, Peter Kodak won the French Open runner-up with a Walker tennis racket.

In 1994, the first "V1"-Vario V1 tennis racket was introduced, and American Tennis Magazine commented: "The new Walker V1 is unbeatably comfortable, playing with it is as soft as an arm on a pillow!" And was named the reputation of "Beat Emperor".

In 1998, at the age of 31, Peter Kodak defended his men's singles title at the Australian Open with a Walker tennis racket.

In 2001, the "Experience Quantum10" was launched, introducing "Quantum" technology to the professional field.

In 2004, the new generation of design V-Engine series was launched on the market.

In 2005, Volkl partnered with Fraunhofer TEG to launch the revolutionary DNX material, which is used in mass production.

In 2009, Volkl combined DNX with excellent handling to introduce a new generation of "POWER BRIDGE" technology, the "PB" series.
