The SPEEDO Story:
Tracing the history of Speedo, following its trajectory from start-up to today's top sports brand, fully demonstrating the trend of the world's competitive swimming to a high level, Speedo sponsors a large number of influential swimming organizations today, and actively supports and invests in the development of young swimmers and elite athletes.
1910 Origin of Speedo: SPEEDO originated in 1914 and only gradually developed into a famous brand name by 1928. The company was founded by Alexander MacRae, a young man from Scotland, who moved to Australia from Scotland in 1910 and opened a lingerie factory called MacRae Hosiery. MacRae quickly expanded into the swimwear industry and the company's name was changed to MacRae Knitting Mills.
