In 1840, Shanghai opened its port, and the Western culture of China and the West was mixed together, and the open and individualistic Western culture was combined with the subtle and subtle local culture of the south of the Yangtze River to form an inclusive Shanghainese culture. Under the influence of such a cultural background, in the 20s of the 20th century, the Shanghai people's clothing gradually reflected a unique style, especially in the men's suit and the women's cheongsam.

By the 30s of the 20th century, the Shanghai-style cheongsam had become the fashion of women from all walks of life in Shanghai, and the "beautiful shadow" of the cheongsam could be seen everywhere. And from Shanghai, the "national fashion center", it has spread to all over the world, leaving a glorious page in the history of Chinese women's clothing. The dragon and phoenix cheongsam is the essence of the Shanghai-style cheongsam, and it is the authentic inheritor of the handmade craftsmanship of the Shanghai-style cheongsam, and it still maintains the legacy of the Shanghai-style cheongsam. With the Shanghai cheongsam from the golden age of the 30s, all the way to the decline of the 70s, and then to the rise again in the 90s, the dragon and phoenix cheongsam has also witnessed the development of history again and again in the tide of the times.

The dragon and phoenix cheongsam is characterized by handmade, high-quality personalized Seiko production. By accurately measuring the size of 36 parts of the human body, the cheongsam produced is guaranteed to perfectly display the body shape. The sewing production process inherits the traditional craft characteristics of inlay, inlay, rolling, down, plate and embroidery of the soon-to-be-lost Suguang garment shop. The selected fabrics and hand-carved, carved and embroidered patterns reflect the characteristics of traditional Chinese culture. This series of techniques can be called a stunt in the field of Chinese cheongsam making.

Zhu Linqing, the first-generation inheritor of the handmade craft of dragon and phoenix cheongsam, has been helping tailors in Shanghai since the 30s of the last century. Painstakingly study the traditional skills of Chinese clothing production, and apply to the production of Shanghai-style cheongsam, at the end of the 30s, founded the "Zhu Shunxing" Chinese clothing shop, after the liberation, the industry structure adjustment, strong alliance. "Zhu Shunxing" merged with four other Chinese clothing stores to establish "Shanghai Longfeng Chinese Clothing Store", inheriting the characteristics of "Su Guangcheng clothing store". It has become the most famous handmade cheongsam making shop in Shanghai, and still retains the production mode of the front shop and the back factory. It is worth mentioning that in 1993 and March 2011, Longfeng cheongsam was the first and second batch of enterprises appointed as "China Time-honored Brand" by the Ministry of Commerce and Trade. In 2007, it was included in the first batch of Jing'an District Intangible Cultural Heritage List and Shanghai Municipal Intangible Cultural Heritage List, and in 2009, it was selected into the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
