History

In June 2012, Xia Xiaoju Technology was established in Beijing and launched the Didi taxi APP; Kuaizhi Technology was established in Hangzhou and launched the Kuaidi taxi APP; Both parties provide users with online taxi hailing services.

In 2013, Didi Taxi and Kuaidi Taxi successively received strategic investment from Tencent and Alibaba, and in the same year, Kuaidi Taxi acquired Bumblebee Taxi.

In May 2014, Didi Dache officially changed its name to Didi Dache.

Uber Global will hold a 5.89% stake in Didi, equivalent to a 17.7% economic interest, and the remaining Chinese shareholders of Uber China will receive a combined 2.3% economic interest. Didi Chuxing founder and chairman Cheng Wei will join Uber's global board of directors, and Uber founder Travis Kalanick will also join Didi Chuxing's board of directors.
