Harman Kardon is a division of Harman International Industries, and is also a top brand in the world-class audio manufacturing industry, specializing in the production of home and car audio, headquartered in Woodbury, New York, USA. Harman Kardon was founded in 1953 by Dr. Kardon, who loved music and art. Founded by Sidney Harman and Bernard Kardon.

The company helped create the high-fidelity audio industry, their first product was an FM tuner, and a year after its founding, HarmanKardon released the world's first true hi-fi receiver, the FestivalD1000, a mono device aimed at non-technical consumers while incorporating many of today's common features, such as a tuner, component control and amplifier in a single body. In 1958, Harman Kardon released the world's first stereo receiver, the Festival TA230, again targeting non-technical users in an effort to bring hi-fi to wider adoption. The company's workforce, headquarters, facilities and its branding will be retained.
