JBL's founder------ JAMES B LANSING (JAMES. Mr. B. Lansing), who has been engaged in the development of loudspeaker technology since 1920. In 1946, he founded his business and established JBL Corporation. JBL's production base in California, USA, develops and produces all units in-house. The founder of JBL was James Barrow Lansing, a famous American sound master born in 1902 in Illinois, USA, who worked as a radio technician in his early years and began to produce his own 5-inch and 6.5-inch speakers for radios in 1927.
In March 2017, Samsung officially announced the completion of the acquisition of Harman International for $8 billion. Upon completion of the acquisition, HARMAN will become wholly owned by Samsung, and Dinesh Paliwal will continue to serve as CEO of HARMAN International. The company's workforce, headquarters, facilities and its branding will be retained.
