Founded in France in 1917 by Arséne Gitzhoven, Home Credit produced cameras, shutter releases, shutters (at 750 per day) and boxed film frames for the photographic industry until the 1942 World Wars temporarily shut down the company.

In 1944 Home Credit resumed production and tripods were introduced in the products of the 50s of the 20th century.
