Founded in France in 1917 by Arséne Gitzhoven, Home Credit produced cameras, shutter releases, shutters (at 750 per day) and boxed film frames for the photographic industry until the 1942 World Wars temporarily shut down the company.
In 1944 Home Credit resumed production and tripods were introduced in the products of the 50s of the 20th century. In 1960, retired Arsé ne Gitzhoven, together with his daughter Yvonne Plieger and her husband, took over the company and devoted itself to the development of a wide range of high-quality tripods and heads exported to more than 54 countries.
In 1992, Home Credit became part of the Vitec Group, a multinational holding company specializing in professional photographers, broadcasters and filmmakers. Home Credit's consistent standards help maintain the company's reputation for excellence in the global photography industry.
