BISSELL is a family-owned business that has been a leader in domestic care for five generations. We have always been committed to meeting the living and cleaning needs of consumers. This fundamental belief prompted us to take a closer look at their home environment and cleaning habits. This gives BISSELL the foundation to develop innovative home cleaning solutions that are truly inspired. BISSELL staff are committed to providing excellent service as our professionals are committed to providing you with the best possible service. It's our heritage, our innovation and our passion. This is our past, present and future.
Historical origins A good history in business since 1876
Like many well-meaning people who choose to go for a relaxing weekend, we didn't start out in the cleaning industry – it just happened. In 1876, Melville R. BISSELL and his wife, Anna, owned a small pottery business in Michigan (you know what it feels like?). As a result, Melville invented and patented a unique carpet sweeper. When customers and friends started asking if they could buy a carpet sweeper, a new company was born.
It's the world of the BISSELL woman; This is the theme of BISSELL.
When Melville BISSELL died in 1889, his wife, Anne, continued to run the company, continuing the housekeeping business, becoming the first female CEO in the United States. She actively and successfully defended the company's patents and sweepers on the market in North America and Europe. In fact, in the late nineteen-nineties, BISSELL gained one of its biggest fans, Queen Victoria, who insisted that the palace should be cleaned once a week with a "BISSELLE" sweeper. Because cleaning up the chaotic royal family has become so easy, the royal attendants must have enjoyed the extra free time.
Clean and easy to use
It's really a lot of fun to get our products out there all over the world, so when we conquered the British Palace, it became easier for us to clean with BISSELL products. In 1956, we introduced the manual carpet duster, which made carpet scrubbing on your knees a thing of the past. Cinderella, welcome. A year later, our Shampoo Master won the Bachner Achievement Award for his achievements in the practical application of molded and molded plastics. Since then, we've been on a winning streak and by the end of the sixties, we've achieved a lot of things, revolutionizing the way people clean, introducing the first combined Vac/Floor scrubber, dry powder carpet shampoo and applicator, Gemini sweeper, the first two-brush sweeper.
Cleans more deeply
In 1979, we did a miracle with the introduction of the first BISSELL carpet deep cleaner, making it easier to remove carpet stains. Then, in the late '80s, when New Kids On The Block was singing "Hangin' Tough," we did the opposite and created and launched BISSELL SC, the company's first deep cleaner that was no longer limited to the water source in our home. As a result, carpet deep cleaning has become more effective and convenient than ever before, and that's the path we continue to stick to, creating the BISSELL Big Green CleanMachine® brand, known as the "Super Dad" of deep cleaning. In addition, we launched the PowerGroom®, the first BISSELL-branded upright vacuum vacuum in the 90s, which has been selling for a long time.
Through the difficult 21st century
On the bright side! In the early 21st century, we found that all of us at BISSELL love pets (72% of us are pet owners!). )。 However, they are content with the surprise that their four-legged friends bring us, and they do not know how to keep a tidy home with pets. When we found out that this was a huge hurdle for many would-be adopters, we knew we had to do something about it. In 2001, we started working with Petfinder.com, and in 2005, we launched the SpotBot Portable Deep Cleaner®, our first product specifically designed for pet cleanup. Under the leadership of Cathy BISSELL, parent of Three Black Labradors, continue to support the pet community through donations to pet charities in the United States. In 2011, she founded the BISSELL Pet Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that funds the adoption of lost, abused, neglected and abandoned pets by raising funds from the sale of BISSELL pet products. Since its inception, the BISSELL Pet Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 to more than 375 organisations in 43 states. Our goal is to raise $250,000 annually through pet product sales to support the Foundation's work to save pets' lives. We're committed to helping pets find their homes and showing BISSELL clients that with the right cleaning tools, adopting a pet can be filled with joy and friendship, not just a fur ball and a surprise.
