In 1874, in the small town of Remsheid in the Ruhr region of Germany, 23-year-old John Vaillant developed a circulating heating system using coal gas and quickly turned it into a product. Vaillant attaches great importance to the humanized design of heating technology, and has continuously launched a number of patented technologies, successively inventing water heaters with closed systems, wall-mounted gas water heaters, etc., opening a comfortable era in the European household hot water market.

Vaillant's earliest business activities in China can be traced back to 1955, when 600,000 gas water heaters were installed in Hong Kong, taking the first step in the field of heating supply in China.

In the early days of reform and opening up, Vaillant water heaters were successively settled in Beijing, Tianjin, and Shanghai, and were named "White Rabbit" because of their unique rabbit logo.

In 1995, Vaillant officially entered the Chinese market and established Vaillant (Beijing) Heating Equipment Co., Ltd. to undertake marketing, service, procurement, production and R&D business in China.

In 2007, Vaillant Group invested heavily in Wuxi, China, to set up a factory officially launched, and more and more heating products and heating technologies that meet the requirements of high environmental protection, high energy saving and high energy efficiency in Europe have been introduced into the Chinese market.

In 2015, Vaillant Group will move all its functional headquarters and core business units in China to Shanghai, and set up a regional headquarters "Vaillant (China) Heating and Cooling Environmental Technology Co., Ltd." in Huangpu District, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vaillant in China to undertake its business development tasks in the Asia-Pacific center.
